Rigel Kentaurus is Done. Next…Fishpunk!

I spent a good portion of the day cleaning up the details for Rigel Kentaurus. I had 8 sales in the first 24 hours, which is considerably better than Neanderthal Swan Song did.

Last night, I realized that I forgot to include the cover illustration credits in, so I uploaded a new file to correct that problem. The effect of that was the book was unavailable for about 6 hours, but it’s back live again now. You can see the book’s Amazon page here.

I also managed to get the CreateSpace version submitted today. Getting the paper copy done takes a bit longer than electronic versions. For one thing, the cover art needs to be just so. Also, the interior also has to be formatted properly.

I was happy enough with the way I learned how to do covers from Michael Jasper, though I did things a little different than he does. (Actually, Jasper and I both learned about this from Dean Wesley Smith, only I forgot about it and Jasper acted on it.)

I had never been happy with the CreateSpace cover for Neanderthal Swan Song, so when I finished Rigel Kentaurus, I made a new cover for that book, too. Net result is that both books are in review, but it’s not like I was making a lot of paper sales in the past few months anyway.

Rigel Kentaurus is in the KDP Select program, and it will go into free status this weekend for two days. If you want a copy and own a Kindle, here’s your chance.

For the next 89 days, there is nothing more to do with this book, so I might as well start a new one. The next book will be called Fishpunk, and I will be talking about it in the next few weeks. I hope to start working on it tomorrow, but no later than Monday. The story is coming together nicely in my head, so it should be a fun book to write.
