Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale 2013 (With pix of the Batmobile)

Those who know me also know I’m really not a car person. I’ve lived a few miles from the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale for 14 years. This is the first time I’ve gone to it, and only because two of my teenagers are car nuts.

That said, I like looking at the old cars (Model A or earlier) and the unique cars that they bring in. Plus, they have some interesting non-car things, too. I thought I’d share some of them with you. This year, the big draw was the original (Adam West) Batmobile.

I believe this first one depicts Treebeard in the years following the end of the Lord of the Rings

Some interesting movie memorabilia was available to purchase. This one is autographed by most of the cast of Star Wars.

Here is a little fuzzy shot of an Albert Einstein display, including an autographed copy of a book. Close to ten grand!

Aaaaand…it’s REO Speedwagon!

Then, we found the Mystery Machine, but no sign of Shag or Scooby.

Not to be left out, the Beatles parked the Yellow Submarine nearby.

James Bond parked inside one of the tents, but left the guns out.

And finally, the Adam West vintage Batmobile. (I’m predicting Bubba Watson will buy it, as he bought the General Lee last year.)
