Little Words

Little Words say a lot.

I came across this interesting article on the use of little words, filler words. Computer analysis of language patterns, both spoken and written, reveals a lot about people.

The way we speak can be used to predict relationships, whether people might be compatible, and who is the person of higher authority in a conversation. Now, they are computer analyzing college entry essays to see if word use gives us any indication of college success.

And don’t think changing your speech patterns will change your life. It seems word use is a reflection of who we are, not a factor driving who we are.
