When October rolls around, attention is always focused on Breast Cancer. NFL players wear pink shoes, Race for the Cure, and many other activities make sure we are aware of that.
Kids want to participate. Last year, there was a hubbub in a local middle school when administrators banned the “I ♥ Boobies” bracelet.
This year, the cheerleaders from Glendale High School decided to create custom tee shirts to wear during a home football game, during which they would collect donations for breast cancer research from the crowd.
The tee shirts had the slogan “Feel for Lumps, Save your Bumps.”
The administration banned the shirts as inappropriate.
Kids want to make this kind of activity fun, and a cute slogan is part of that. The school officials find “save your bumps” to be inappropriate. I find nothing offensive about the shirts. I mean, it’s not like the slogan is “Feel for Nits, Save your Tits.”  I think the Glendale administration is overreacting.
The only conclusion I can come to is that Glendale High School is run by Harriet Oleson from Little House on the Prairie.
