Tank Restocking Plans, Incoming Livestock

While I have not yet received the compensation check from PetSmart, I already have replacement fish lined up.  I will be ordering another group of Endler’s Livebearers from the esteemed AdrianHD at Swamp River Aquatics.  Adrian is the world’s top breeder of this fish.  He has the real thing, pure class N, without contamination from guppy DNA.

I will be ordering replacements for exactly what I bought originally.  Two pairs black bar strain, and two pairs peacock strain.  You can see examples of the male from each strain in the pictures below.  Females are monochromatic silver-gold in color and are about twice as large.

Because I am already placing an order, I have decided to purchase a few other species from Adrian as well.  The other main fish coming will be wild sailfin mollies, the first generation offspring of fish (F1) collected by Adrian in Florida.

Wild sailfin mollies

These are not your average store stocked mollies.  These are offspring of caught fish and they get big, 4 inches total length.  When I kept common black mollies, they only got to about two or two-and-a=half inches total length.

I’m also buying a couple of species not listed on his site, but still collected locally in Florida.  I’ll be getting two pairs of Florida Flagfish and three pairs of Least Killifish.  Both of these species will be F0 (wild collected).  I already keep both of those species, but adding wild fish will inject some fresh DNA into both tanks. That can only improve any offspring.
