Today’s post is mostly mundane and uninteresting, but for those interested in home repair jobs, this is about a small one.
Did you ever have one of those household projects that you know is not going to take very long, but you never find time to do it? Yeah, I had one of those in the form of swapping out a sprinkler head in my front lawn. The old one had a spray angle of about 60 degrees, and I needed around 100 degrees. Back in October, I bought an adjustable head, so I can set it exactly to the shape of that corner of the lawn. In the mean time, I tolerated a dead patch in the front lawn.
Today, I finally got around to changing it. Turned out to be a little more involved than I expected as I bought a different sized unit. Had to dig all the way down to the PVC, remove the stand-off and cut it back, then make the change.
I have a new blister on my hand because the dog once chewed on the end of my trowel, but at least the lawn should be green everywhere this summer. As a side effect, the rabbits and birds shouldn’t be able to dig holes in the bare spots.
