Shell Game

This is the second day since I trunked two dozen short stories in an effort to kickstart my productivity.  I thought since I had no trouble creating eBooks for the 21st-Century Author that I would have momentum on my side when I returned to fiction.  That seems not to be the case, and it’s frustrating.

I wrote nearly 1000 words yesterday on the short story that I’ve been spinning my wheels on for a month.  I keep getting stopped at the same place, though I think the beginning portion is better now.  Still, I got stuck again.

In an attempt to combat the literary sluggishness, I decided to table that one for a while and pulled up a story I started last summer.  At the time, I was having a similar problem with this other story, and set it aside.

I read through the 1500 words I had finished on that story and decided it was good enough to continue.  I decided what the end will be, and managed to get another 250 words down on the page today.   I’ll take another stab at adding some words later tonight.
