Now that I’ve started census work proper, meaning out of training, I’m suddenly swamped. The census thing is much like being salaried in the sense that you have to be ready to work on and off all day. Yet, the position is hourly, so it’s a lot of paperwork and tracking of hours. The work load is enormous.
For somebody who was used to working well over 40 hours a week, the work load isn’t overwhelming at all. The only difference is that the pay is nothing to get overly excited about.
