I had a 3000+ word writing day for the first time in a long time. No other real commitments today other than grading a handful of math papers and a quick run to Costco. It feels good to be that productive on the novel, which passed the 20K word mark today. Since I’m projecting Fishpunk to be around 80K words, I’m a quarter of the way through it in just a hair over two weeks. While this is not quite Matt Forbeck’s pace, it’s still a heck of a lot faster than a lot of my peers work. After those three to four years that I was paralyzed as a writer, it feels good to be productive. I may still be able to complete four novels this year, even though I got a very late start on the first one.
