I was derailed for a few days due to participating in the Codex writers group annual Codexian Idol contest (based loosely on American Idol). Since I made it to the final round, I had to keep working on that story through completion before going back to the novel edits.
I believe my story ended up in 6th place out of maybe 30 stories. It was my best showing despite my ability to polarize my audience.
I plan to leave that story on ice for a few weeks while I finish my novel edits. I have cleared out most of the Japan cultural corrections that a friend far better versed in that area than I pointed out to me. Eighty-two chapters in the book, I will be editing chapter seventy next. (That’s page 490 of 587 manuscript pages.)
I should easily be able to complete that this week. The next step is dependent upon Angry Robot’s decision.
